Hartman's Hip Helper*
Dedication

Both of these ladies had a crippling malady.
-
Jodi (on the left) was getting hip dysplasia at the age of 9 but passed away early before
it fully set in. She was known as the "gentle giant." She performed in
obedience and quickly received an UD (no UDX offered) with high scores and many
first places. She also performed in sheep herding and pulled several high-in-trials.
-
Nikki (on the right) was diagnosed at the age of 3 with myelopathy with the expectation
of 6 months to live. With the help of her chiropractor, Dr. Sue Ann Lesser, D.V.M., C.A.C.,
proper medication, and the aid of a harness, she lived to the age of 12. Nikki lost her mobility
at the age of five but her mind was as alert and sharp as ever. She wanted to be with me
always and her sad eyes said please don’t leave me behind. She accepted all assistance
offered to her because her desire to remain as my companion was very strong. So I
granted her wish allowing her to travel with me and her canine companions.
-
I also want to give a bundle of thanks to some very special friends:
-
Ellen H., for helping me find my resources and pushing me to follow my heart
-
Chris G., for his sketches
-
C.J. and Joel for their advice
-
GG, for her copying
-
Fred, for his continuous support
-
Lynn P. for Web assistance
